Most couples book an engagement session for the photographs and leave with something more useful: an hour of practice.

Almost nobody is comfortable in front of a camera the first time. That is not a flaw, it is just unfamiliarity, and it wears off. By the time we are twenty minutes in, you have stopped arranging your face and started talking to each other. On a wedding day that head start is worth more than any amount of direction from me.

An hour and a half, one or two places close together, two changes of clothes if you want them. Golden hour if the season allows it, which around here means late afternoon in spring and something closer to seven in July.

It is included with the eight and ten hour wedding collections, which is deliberate. I would rather meet you before the day than on it.
