Privacy policy

This policy explains what happens to information you give this website. It is written for a small photography business run by one person, and it is short because the site does very little with your data.

The short version

• This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics, no advertising pixels and no third-party scripts.
• The only information collected is what you type into the inquiry form and send.
• That inquiry goes to Viktoriia. It is not sold, rented, or shared for advertising.
• You can ask for a copy of what is held about you, or ask for it to be deleted.

Who is responsible

Volkanova Photography, a wedding and portrait photography business operated by Viktoriia Volkanova in Sacramento, California. Reach us through the inquiry form or on Instagram at @volkanova.photo.

What this site collects

Information you send

The inquiry form asks for your names, your Instagram handle, your email address and your wedding date. It optionally asks where you are celebrating, which collection interests you, and anything you want to tell us about the day. You choose what to put in it. Nothing is collected from you anywhere else on the site.

Information your browser sends

Like every website, this one is served by a host that records ordinary request information, including IP addresses, in its server logs. Those logs are kept by the hosting provider for security and reliability. They are not used to build a profile of you and they are not combined with your inquiry.

Information stored in your own browser

If you begin filling in the inquiry form, your answers are saved in your own browser so a refresh or a lost connection does not erase them. The draft holds whatever you have typed, which can include your names, your email address, your Instagram handle and your note. It stays on your device and is never transmitted anywhere on its own. It is erased once an inquiry sends successfully, and deliberately kept if a send fails, so nothing you wrote is lost while you try again. Clearing your browser data removes it at any time.

Cookies, analytics and tracking

This site sets no cookies. It runs no analytics service, no advertising pixel, no session recording, no chat widget and no social tracking. Fonts and images are served from this site itself rather than a content network, so loading a page does not tell any third party that you visited. That is the complete list. If any of it changes, this policy is updated in the same change that introduces it, with a new effective date.

What we do with an inquiry

An inquiry is used to reply to you, to check whether a date is available, to talk through what you are planning, and to send a quote or an agreement if you want one. Because conversation happens on Instagram, the Instagram handle you give is used to message you there.

You are not added to a marketing list. Nothing is sent to you by text message. There is no newsletter.

Who else can see it

An inquiry passes through the companies that run the website and its email delivery, and is stored in an email inbox. These providers process it on our behalf so we can receive and answer your message. It is not sold, rented or traded, and it is not shared with any advertising network. It would only be disclosed further if the law required it.

How long it is kept

Inquiries are kept while there is a reason to keep them, which usually means the conversation and any booking that follows, plus the period required for tax and contract records. An inquiry that goes nowhere is deleted when it is no longer useful. You can ask for yours to be deleted sooner.

Your choices

You can ask what information is held about you, ask for a copy, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Send the request through the inquiry form or by Instagram message and say what you would like. We may need to confirm you are the person the information belongs to. There is no charge, and asking costs you nothing else.

California residents

This is a small business that falls well below the revenue and volume thresholds at which the California Consumer Privacy Act applies, so this policy makes no claim under that Act and there is no Do Not Sell or Share link, because nothing is sold or shared. The access and deletion routes described above are open to everyone who asks, in California and elsewhere.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. This site does not track anyone across other websites, so there is nothing for that signal to switch off.

Photographs

Photographs on this site are published under the photography agreement each couple signs, which covers portfolio and website use. If you are in one of them and would like it taken down, ask and it will come down.

Children

This site is meant for adults planning a wedding and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under thirteen. If a child has sent something through the form, tell us and it will be deleted.

Security

The site is served only over an encrypted connection, and inquiries travel encrypted. No method of transmission is perfectly secure, so please do not send anything sensitive through the form. It is a form for talking about a wedding.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published here with a new effective date. Material changes to how information is handled will be described rather than quietly reworded.
